Summer Essay Essay Example for Free
Summer Essay Essay On a hot summer day, a great place to go is to the beach. You would go out to the beach to enjoy the water, the sun, the activities that are happening, or just to be with family and friends. When youre at the beach, there are some very distinct smells. You can smell the salt from the water along with the heat from the sand. My most favourite smell of all is the sweet coconut smell of sun tanning lotion that people put on themselves while they lay into the sun to basically cook. If youre looking for a quiet day of relaxation at the beach, I dont think that will work out too well. The beach is always really loud throughout the day. You can hear the loud motors of the boats and the waves of the water as they come crashing through to shore. Youll definitely be able to hear the laughter and the excitement of the kids of all ages as they splash around, play games, and build sandcastles. While youre at the beach you can always get involved in some fun activities, if you arent able to relax. You can go fishing, if you like touching the slimy scales of the fish and the soft touch of the cold water. Just make sure you dont get the rough, coarse sand in your shorts because you wont like that too much. Overall the beach is lots of fun to go to, if you just want to get away from the busy everyday city life. If you are there early enough, you will be able to see a beautiful, bright sunrise and if you enjoy staying out on the beach until the evening, Im sure you can catch a calming and loving sunset. After the sun has gone down for the night, you can sit in the sand and stare up at the amazing dark blue sky and bright shining stars.

Is Medical Testing On Animals Ethical :: essays research papers
Every year, nearly one hundred million animals die in research laboratories at the hands of curious scientists who perform outdated and inaccurate tests that prove no benefit to humans or animals. I believe vivisection, medical testing on animals, should be banned. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Before these animals die they are routinely burned, scalded, poisoned, starved, given electric shocks, and deliberately inflicted with deadly diseases. Their eyes are surgically removed, and their brains and spinal cords are damaged; this is completed without any kind of anesthesia. Despite all of this cruelty, not a single disease has been cured through vivisection in this century. The overall cancer rate has risen in the past forty years, and a fatal heart attack strikes a person every forty-five seconds. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimate that seventy to eighty percent of the common diseases killing Americans can be prevented by a responsible lifestyle and diet. Drug testing on animals is not accurate and has no advantage to animals or people. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Animals including dogs, cats, mice, pigs, monkeys, horses, deer, and cattle are commonly used for these senseless experimentations. The other remaining misfortunate animals come from places a little closer to you and me. Some of them come from animal shelters, some from the “free to a good home'; ads in the newspaper, or, even worse, some have been stolen directly from their own yard. Imagine your pet being crammed into a cage with ten other animals waiting to die in these cruel and heartless experiments. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã The current system of drug testing places consumers in a dangerous predicament. For example, some drugs passed safe in animal experiments but proved tragic consequences in humans. Conversely, many drugs that are beneficial to humans are dangerous or even fatal to animals. This is obvious proof that testing on animals is unreliable, but sadistic tests still go on every day. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã If animal experimentation was eliminated, it could save up to 6.8 billion dollars. This money could be used for medical assistance programs for low-income individuals, helping the many Americans who can not afford insurance, rather than killing animals or making them sick. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã There will be nearly 275 thousand animals dead this time tomorrow that were not dead right now.

Do you think Candyââ¬â¢s opinion of Curleyââ¬â¢s wife is fair Essay
ââ¬Å"Do you think Candyââ¬â¢s opinion of Curleyââ¬â¢s wife is fair or does Steinbeck show us a character that has had so many disappointments in her life and is lonely that we can understand why she acts as she does? I myself donââ¬â¢t think that candyââ¬â¢s opinion of curleyââ¬â¢s wife is fair, this is because all the people on the ranch have made up there minds that she is a tart because of the way she dresses and the way she tries to flirt with them, but she doenââ¬â¢t mean to put the impression to the ranch workers that she is a tart but looks can be deceiving. She dresses and looks this way because she has always dreamed of being in the movie business, living in Salinas at only at the age of 15 she wrote to a man in the movie business but had no reply,Her dreams of staring in her own movie were smashed into a million pieces. Now when she is older and wiser she still has no ambitions. Then she married Curly. Now married to Curly she is always lonely, this is because she is away from her family and friends, shes ignored by Curly (when he is around!) because he is always in town or in whore houses,on the ranch there is nothing for her to do except sit around doing nothing. This is why she tries to make friends with the people on the ranch because she is lonely, but the ranch workers think she is trying to get them into trouble with curly, and because she hasnââ¬â¢t got over her trauma of being rejected by the movie business she wants to live out the fame and dream of being a movie star in front of the ranch workers.the ranch workers are too scared to have any business with her because if they do they know that curly would give them the beating of there lives. Later in the story lennie is the only person who she manages to have a proper conversation with,at first lennie tells curlyââ¬â¢s wife that George told him to stay away from her because she will get him into trouble and that she is bad news, but she manages to make it slip Lennies mind by asking him questions about things he likes like soft things, furry things, rabbits, etc and he is easily led into them conversations because they are all his favourite things he mostly likes. When she asks him if he likes petting and touching soft things he got very excited, then she asked him if he wanted to touch her soft golden hair,he replyââ¬â¢s yes. When he is petting her soft locks of hair he starts to get more and more of a grip of her it,she tells him that is enough he blocks her voice out of his head and continues to have a firm grip, she tries to struggle away from him with no success, then when she screams Lennie got scared because he knew she would get him into trouble so with his bear like hands he covers her mouth but she still managed to shout for help so Lennie done the only thing he knew he would do to shut her up for good!,and breaks her neck like a twig.

S: he would then point to someone else, and say ââ¬Å"oh it wasnt me, it was them!â⬠M; it is absolutely disgusting that he covers up assault by saying itââ¬â¢s a prank. S; even then, the videos would get a huge amount of views, which meant more income, so he would do anything if it meant more money. M; the next scenario also involves Sam Pepper.
